THE POSITION

The Sr. Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a range of general staff accounting tasks, but will primarily be responsible for all accounting work associated with processing accounts payable, expense reporting, and sales/use tax submissions.

Some of the position duties include:

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
  • Ensures that all financial data is entered into the computer using appropriate software (Microsoft Business Central, X-1).
  • Ensures all purchasing procedures have been met prior to issuing payment to a vendor.
  • Completes all data entry pertaining to vendors including W-9 / 1099 information, entering invoices, and updating vendor information.
  • Conducts weekly accounts payable check run in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Completes vendor inquiries, reviews statement, and resolves any discrepancies.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and two years related experience and/or training performing the essential functions of the accounting position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • One needs to have the ability to work under pressure against deadlines and to work with minimal supervision.
